Washington Policy Center welcomes four new board members from across the state to its Board of Directors

SEATTLE— Washington Policy Center, Washington's premier free-market public policy research and education organization, has elected four new members to its Board of Directors, Bill Baldwin of Bellevue, Irene Song of Seattle, Hon. Brian Sonntag of Tacoma and Wayne Williams of Liberty Lake.

Bill Baldwin, partner & founder of The Partners Group has served on the board for Washington Policy Center as an emeritus member since 2001. He has also served as the president and CEO of Washington Policy Center in its early years and also serves on community boards and committees for education at Seattle Pacific University and Washington State University and on the board for TVW.

Irene Song, formerly counsel in K&L Gates LLP’s Corporate Groups in Seattle, has recently joined PACCAR Inc. in Bellevue as their Senior Counsel. She served on the WPC Young Professionals Advisory Board since its inception in 2009. She is a graduate of Princeton University and earned her J.D. at the Berkeley School of Law.

Hon. Brian Sonntag was a five-term State Auditor for the state of Washington, retiring in 2013. He currently serves as the Executive Director for the nonprofit Tacoma Rescue Mission, which provides aid to the homeless in Pierce County. He has served on the boards of United Way and the Boys and Girls Club.

Wayne Williams is the President and CEO of Telect, Inc., a global manufacturer of telecom products based in Liberty Lake. He has served on WPC’s Eastern Washington Advisory Board since 2009. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and the YPO Christian Fellowship Network, former chairman of Greater Spokane Inc. and a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner President Management Program.

"These four outstanding citizens have been supporters of our organization and our mission to promote free-market solutions through research and education at a variety of different levels over the years and we are excited that they have agreed to join our board of directors," said WPC President Dann Mead Smith. "They bring extensive knowledge and background on the pressing public policy issues facing our state and we are honored to have them share their expertise and partner with us in growing our organization and impact across the state."
