SEATTLE— Washington Policy Center (WPC) announced today that the 70th U.S. Secretary of State and former director of the CIA, Michael R. Pompeo is coming to Bellevue on October 14th to keynote the free-market organization’s 2022 Western Washington Annual Dinner event at the Hyatt Regency. As U.S. Secretary of State in the Trump Administration, Mr. Pompeo challenged Chinese Communist party actions that threatened American jobs and freedoms. Under Mr. Pompeo’s leadership, peace in the Middle East was realized through the work of the Abraham Accords and Mr. Pompeo led a team that executed America's largest-ever global repatriation effort in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Secretary Pompeo has served this country with distinction as both an observer and a director of world events at the highest levels,” remarked WPC Interim President Paul Guppy. “Washington Policy Center is thrilled to continue our tradition of bringing the nation’s leading speakers to the Pacific Northwest our annual dinner events.”
Washington Policy Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to improve lives through free market solutions. Its annual dinner events, hosted in Bellevue and Spokane, are among the biggest events of their kind in the nation and have become must-attend events for lawmakers, citizen activists, and business leaders across the state for more than twenty-five years. The announcement of Secretary Pompeo as keynote speaker continues a long tradition of top newsmakers headlining the event. Past WPC annual dinner keynote speakers include former governor Nikki Haley, General James Mattis, former vice-presidential candidate and U.S. Senator, Joe Lieberman, and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson.
“Secretary Pompeo has spent his life in the arena,” Guppy continued. “WPC is proud to add that level of experience and expertise to our speaker lineup. It’s going to be an exciting night.”
Washington Policy Center’s Annual Dinner events are held in Bellevue and Spokane. This year’s Spokane event is being held September 16th at the Davenport Grand in Spokane. Former congresswoman and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Spokane event.
Additional speaker announcements are coming soon.
