Seattle - Washington Policy Center, the state's premier independent research and education organization, elected Greg Porter of Berntson Porter & Company, PLLC, has the new Chairman of the Board. Greg Porter began his two year term as chairman at WPC's Annual Board Meeting on December 13, 2006.
Greg Porter has been on the board of Washington Policy Center since 2003, it's Executive Committee since 2005 and has chaired its last three Annual Dinners, which set records for attendance and revenue. In 1985 he co-founded Berntson Porter & Company, PLLC, in Bellevue, one of the largest CPA firms in the Puget Sound region.
Greg received his MBA from Washington State University (WSU) and his Masters of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified Forensic Financial Analyst and Investment Advisor Representative. Greg serves on a variety of boards across the state including the WSU College of Business National Board of Advisors, HomeStone Bank, The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, KidsQuest Children's Museum and was the former Chairman of Supreme Corq, Inc. prior to its sale in 2004.

Outgoing board chair Sarah Rindlaub was unanimously re-elected to another three year term on WPC's board of directors and will remain active with the organization and continue to serve on its Executive Committee.
