The Spokesman-Review published a column I wrote about two bills that will harm most workers in the state. SB 5292 promises workers in the state pay decreases, while forcing low-income workers to continue giving some of their earnings to those with higher wages. SB 5041 will allow striking workers to collect unemployment insurance benefits. Those benefits are funded by employers and meant for workers who lose work through no fault of their own.
