About our speakers:

In response to the Seattle income tax, Rob and Matt have come together to start a new nonprofit, the Opportunity for All Coalition. This nonprofit, along with a group of Seattle entrepreneurs, employers and employees is currently challenging Seattle’s illegal income tax.

Rob McKenna is a partner at the Orrick's law firm Seattle and Washington, D.C., offices. He is accomplished in all areas of public policy, appellate law and investigations. Rob served two terms as Washington’s Attorney General, during which he successfully argued three cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He also manages the website Smarter Government Washington, which seeks positive solutions for a leaner, more efficient, and less expensive state government.

Matt McIlwain is the Managing Director at Madrona Venture Group, a venture capital firm that teams with technology entrepreneurs to nurture ideas from startup to market success.  He joined Washington Policy Center’s Board of Directors in 2012. Matt is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
