Washington Policy Center event will honor State Auditor Brian Sonntag and be broadcast live in Spokane

Seattle – Pulitzer-prize winning columnist and commentator Charles Krauthammer will keynote Washington Policy Center’s 2010 Annual Dinner on Wednesday, October 6th, at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.  1,200 people will be attending the gala event, which sold out in early September.  Contact John Barnes for information on Krauthammer’s media availability, jbarnes@washingtonpolicy.org.

Charles Krauthammer’s insightful columns have appeared regularly in The Washington Post  since 1985.  His writing now appears in more than 200 newspapers worldwide. He is also a political analyst for FOX News, a regular weekly panelist on “Inside Washington” and a contributing editor to The New Republic and The Weekly Standard.  Krauthammer has won both the Pulitzer Prize for his newspaper column and the National Magazine Award, the highest award in magazine journalism.  He has been honored from every part of the political spectrum for his bold, lucid and original writing -- from the famously liberal People for the American Way to the staunchly conservative Bradley Foundation.

Washington Policy Center will also honor State Auditor Brian Sonntag with its 2010 Stanley O. McNaughton Champion of Freedom Award.  Since being elected State Auditor in 1992, Sonntag has been a passionate advocate for Washington’s citizens. Now in his fifth term as Auditor, he remains committed to ensuring state and local governments are accountable, accessible and responsive to citizens.

TVW will be recording the event for broadcast.  The dinner will also be broadcast live in Spokane at the Lincoln Center.  Tickets are still available for the Spokane broadcast (contact Chris Cargill for more information).
