Lineup includes “nation’s most influential commentator” & “most revered Marine in a generation”

SPOKANE — Washington Policy Center – a non-partisan, public policy think tank with four offices around the state including Spokane and the Tri-Cities – announced today the official blockbuster lineup for its 2016 Eastern Washington Annual Dinner.

Pulitzer-prize winning author and columnist Dr. Charles Krauthammer will keynote the Annual Dinner, which will be held Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00pm at the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane.

“Dr. Krauthammer is considered the most influential news and political commentator in America,” explained WPC president Dann Mead Smith. “He has been honored by every part of the political spectrum for his bold, lucid and original thinking and commentary, and we coudn't be more thrilled to have him join us in Spokane.”

Dr. Krauthammer’s first-time visit to Spokane and address to WPC’s Eastern Washington Annual Dinner – the largest gathering of its kind in the region – will come just days before the nation’s first scheduled presidential debate.

Since 1985, Krauthammer has written a syndicated column for The Washington Post for which he won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. It is published weekly in more than 400 newspapers worldwide including the Spokesman-Review. He is a contributing editor to The Weekly Standard. He is also a contributor to FOX News, appearing nightly on FOX's evening news program, Special Report with Bret Baier.

In addition to hearing Dr. Krauthammer’s take on current events and the presidential race, Annual Dinner attendees will be able to hear from the “most revered Marine in a generation.”

Four-star Marine Gen. James Mattis – a Pullman native and Central Washington University graduate – has been named WPC’s Champion of Freedom recipient for 2016 and will also be in attendance to be honored at the Eastern Washington Annual Dinner on September 20th.

Tickets to the blockbuster 2016 WPC Eastern Washington Annual Dinner featuring Gen. Mattis and Dr. Krauthammer are available now at washingtonpolicy.org or by calling WPC’s Eastern Washington Annual Dinner hotline at (509) 954-2449.
