A straightforward way to help salmon recovery

BLOG

When Alan Mulaley took over as CEO of Ford, one of the first ways he streamlined company operations was by allowing every department to come forward and openly talk about what tasks, projects, and processes were late and behind without retribution. In opening up communication, Ford was quickly able to identify where they had problems to fix and address them directly.

In Washington, we're already one step ahead of where Ford was when it comes to salmon recovery. Local salmon recovery project managers are telling us where the delays are, and in many cases it's roadlbocks in the form of permits and regulatory barriers. In very many cases, these requirements don't make sense to impose on salmon recovery efforts, and ought to be waived. HB 2193 would allow exactly that to happen, with oversight being given to an accelerator office to approve or deny regulatory relief for salmon recovery project managers.

The entire scope and analysis of this common sense policy is broken down in Todd's legislative memo, available to read here
