Just three weeks before the election, in Bellevue best-selling author, pollster and commentator Scott Rasmussen will discuss the mood of the electorate and give his thoughts on the top races around the country. In Spokane, veteran political analyst Ed Rollins will also discuss the upcoming election. Daniel Hannan, a member of the European Parliament from England and author of the book The New Road to Serfdom: A Letter of Warning to America, will speak live in Bellevue and will be simulcast in Spokane. Hannan, whose address to the European Parliament, “The Devalued Prime Minister of a Devalued Government,” won Speech of the Year at the 2009 Spectator Awards, will discuss the dangers in following Europe’s path of greater regulation, higher taxes, and more centralization.

Washington Policy Center will also be honoring a bipartisan group of 32 state legislators who sponsored a bill to legalize charter public schools in Washington earlier this year. The four bill sponsors -- Sen. Steve Litzow (R-Mercer Island), Sen. Rodney Tom (D-Bellevue), Rep. Eric Pettigrew (D-Seattle), and Rep. Glenn Anderson (R-Fall City) -- will receive WPC’s 2012 Champion of Freedom Award at the dinner.

Washington Policy Center’s Annual Dinner is one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest gala events. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend in Bellevue and Spokane.
