SEATTLE – Washington Policy Center – the state’s leading, independent policy research organization with offices in Seattle, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Olympia – is pleased to announce U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will be joining us at this year’s Annual Dinner in Bellevue.

“In the most important decision parents can make for their child, they deserve to have more choice about where their child goes to school,” said Liv Finne, WPC’s Director for the Center for Education. “We appreciate Secretary DeVos’ leadership in providing parents and children with more options in planning their education and their future.”

For over twenty years, Secretary DeVos has devoted herself to expanding learning opportunities for families. WPC’s Center for Education has long recommended expanding school choice in our state. School choice is popular, because it is the best way to help students find a quality school, so every child learns. Secretary DeVos has focused the national debate on policies that provide all families, not just the wealthy, with a quality education.

“We’re thrilled to have Secretary DeVos as the keynote speaker for this year’s Annual Dinner, alongside Fox Business anchor Neil Cavuto,” said Dann Mead Smith, President of Washington Policy Center. “It’s sure to be an eventful evening full of interesting insight, positive solutions, and great discussion.”

Washington Policy Center’s Annual Dinner events are among the largest policy galas in the country.  Together, the events– in Bellevue, in Spokane, and our Young Professionals Annual Dinner – bring together over 2,500 people to hear from inspirational speakers about how free-market solutions improve lives in Washington state and around the world. These events raise over one-million dollars to support our work each year. Our Bellevue Dinner also features a Young Professionals event where over 300 up-and-coming leaders enjoy a three-course dinner and hear from both keynote speakers. Young professionals who attend have a great opportunity to talk and network with some of the nation’s most prominent leaders.

Washington Policy Center focuses on seven key research areas: Agriculture, Education, Environment, Government Reform, Health Care, Small Business & Labor Reform and Transportation.
