SEATTLE - Washington Policy Center - Upon the news of U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) being considered for the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Washington Policy Center released a statement from its Center for Environmental Policy, Director Todd Myers.

“Having grown up in a rural community, Cathy McMorris Rodgers understands how working landscapes and environmental stewardship go hand-in-hand. WPC has enjoyed working with her for the past 15 years on several policy issues including environmental issues and have always appreciated her leadership and thoughtful, open approach to policy. She has seen firsthand the environmental damage that comes from neglect of federal lands and will be a great steward of our parks and federal lands. Cathy McMorris Rodgers will be a tremendous Secretary of the Interior.”
