Have you ever thought to recycle a pizza box, only to second guess yourself once you see the remnants of cheese and grease stains littered inside? You're not alone. Billions of pizza boxes go unrecycled because of individuals not knowing if their pepperoni smeared boxes are okay to recycle. Seeing this confusion, the company that makes the boxes for Domino's commissioned a study to confirm that grease does not negatively impact the recyclability of their cardboard boxes.
Seeing that as a major waste area, Domino's also stepped up and is now printing instructions directly onto their boxes reassuring consumers they can safely recycle their boxes, grease and all. Yet another example of private businesses stepping up to improve life voluntarily, no government intervention needed.
