In 2013, Washington Policy Center brought Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to speak at its Annual Dinner. Walker’s tough stand on taxes in Wisconsin resulted in a $625 million dollar budget surplus providing $650 million in individual income tax relief and nearly $1 billion in tax relief overall for families and businesses, the largest income tax cut that Wisconsin has seen in 14 years. He has also increased the school voucher program allowing students from lower and middle-income families to attend private schools.
