In his role as staff attorney at the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, Bill Messenger was lead counsel on the Janus right to work case that was decided last summer by the United States Supreme Court. He’s 3-0 before the big bench, and the Janus decision has sent shockwaves within Labor Law circles, specifically as it relates to public unions. Bill will be discussing what’s next following the Janus decision, including the potential for Janus to strike a blow for free enterprise by re-asserting the rights of individuals over the rights of unions beyond the scope of public unions, and in the process, re-shape the American Economy.
The Janus decision is one of the most significant US Supreme Court rulings in decades. Will it lead to right-to-work as the national rule of law? Will unions become more relevant and efficient as a result of the ruling?
