State’s New Energy Regulations would Increase Costs for Homeowners

Earlier this year, homeowners and businesses dodged major cost increases due to new energy code regulations being imposed by the State Building Code Council. The new energy regulations, which were scheduled to take effect on July 1, are part of the state’s climate action agenda.  However, serious questions remain about the economic analysis provided by the Council. Before the Governor and lawmakers allow these costly regulations to move forward, key questions about costs and environmental benefit need to be answered.
