2006 Fall Small Business Issue Forum in Tacoma Next Tuesday
Seattle - Washington Policy Center, the states premier independent research and education organization, along with its research center, the Center for Small Business and Entrepreneurship will be in Tacoma on October 24th for the 2006 Regional Small Business Issue Forum at the Tacoma-Pierce County Chambers Good Morning Tacoma Business Breakfast. The Forum breakfast is in cooperation with the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Bank and the Business Examiner.
The Small Business Issue Forums follow up the two Statewide Small Business Conferences held last year in Seattle and Tri-Cities. Attendees will hear from experts on small business access to health care, tax policy affecting small businesses, an overview of the statewide ballot initiatives and a preview of the 2007 Legislative Session.
WPC will also release its new studies on all three of the statewide ballot initiatives: A Citizens Guide to Initiative 920: A measure to repeal Washingtons estate tax, The Guide to Initiative 933: The Property Rights Initiative and Guide to Initiative 937: Washington Green Energy Quotas.
Small business owners dont often have the time and resources to keep up with the latest policy innovations and proposals that affect their business, said Small Business Center director Carl Gipson. These Forums provide a way to get caught up on the important issues of the day and ensure their issues are kept in front of policymakers.
