2010 Annual Dinner
1,200 friends of Washington Policy Center packed the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue last week to hear renowned columnist Charles Krauthammer and honor State Auditor Brian Sonntag at WPC's Annual Dinner. 200 joined the event at the Lincoln Center in Spokane via live hi-def simulcast.

Association of Washington State Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Annual Conference

Kennewick Rotary Club
WPC Eastern Washington director Chris Cargill speaks to the Kennewick Rotary Club on August 18th in Kennewick. Members heard about transparency issues that clouded the latest legislative sessions, and WPC’s recommendations on a constitutional amendment to fix the problem.
Leavenworth Rotary Club
WPC Eastern Washington director Chris Cargill spoke to members of the Leavenworth Rotary on Friday, August 13th. Education and state budget issues consumed a majority of the conversation. More than two dozen Rotary members attended the meeting.
The Battle: How the Fight Between Free Enterprise and Big Government Will Shape America's Future, with Arthur Brooks
In The Battle, Brooks outlines a new culture war – not the old struggle over guns or abortion or religion, but over two competing visions of America. In one, America continues as a unique and exceptional nation organized around the principles of free enterprise. In the other, America moves toward a European-style social democracy characterized by increasing bureaucracies, income redistribution, and government control of corporations. These two visions of America are not reconcilable. They represent the starkest of choices for the American people.
8th Annual Environmental Policy Conference & Luncheon
Roger A. Pielke, Jr. has been on the faculty of the University of Colorado since 2001 and is a Professor in the Environmental Studies Program and a Fellow of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES). At CIRES, Roger served as the Director of the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research from 2001-2007. Roger's research focuses on the intersection of science and technology and decision making.
